Desktop Streaming Media Production

8. The Final Step

At this point, at least three files are available: the HTML file, the encoded streaming file, and the redirector file. The last step is to get these files from the personal computer (PC) to the server addresses supplied by the ISP. Unfortunately, there is no single way to accomplish this. Each ISP has its own preferred method, and specific details must be obtained directly. Many will supply an FTP program, and from there it is a simple copy-and-paste procedure to copy the files from the hard drive to the specified folder on the server.

Once the transfer is complete, the work must be tested to confirm that the files work properly. Then, work can begin on the next streaming media project.
